E-Cycle Day

An annual electronics recycling drop-off held each fall

Each fall, the Sustainability Office collaborates with to hold E-Cycle Day. Members of the University community can drop off old, broken, or unwanted electronic items from home to be disposed of conveniently, safely, and securely. Since 2008, more than 200 tons of electronics have been recycled.

What to bring

Computers, monitors, printers, scanners, TVs, cellphones and chargers, tablets, audio and video equipment, microwaves, and more. Check out .

Note: Departmental equipment is not accepted at this event.

How do I get there?

E-Cycle Day is located in the parking lot of the Alumni and Advancement Center at 300 E. River Rd. Please refer to the South Campus map to help you find the correct event location.

If you are traveling by car from River Campus or the Medical Center, follow these directions:

  1. Head south on Kendrick Road until you reach the traffic circle.
  2. At the traffic circle, take the first exit to turn right onto East River Road.
  3. Turn left into the Alumni and Advancement Center drive and immediately turn right to go behind the building.
  4. Follow the posted signs to drop off your electronics and proceed to the exit.

Save items to drop off at the next event. Or, head to , a year-round recycling collection program offered through a partnership with Monroe County and Waste Management.

University employees can also take advantage of the , which securely recycles University-owned consumer or personal electronics for free.

2025 E-Cycle Day results

The 18th annual E-Cycle Day collected a total of 17,812 pounds of electronics—nearly nine tons. Other highlights include:

  • 268 cars visited the event
  • The most popular drop-off time was between 7:30 and 8:30 a.m.
  • TVs were the most commonly recycled items
