Senate Executive Committee

The Senate Executive Committee serves as an agenda committee for the deliberations of the Senate, and makes recommendations to the Senate. It provides ongoing strategic preparation to perform as a central point for ongoing governance in between full Senate meetings. For instance, it makes timely decisions such as permitting non-substantive handbook changes, handling immediate concerns, and overseeing the implementation of Senate decisions and coordinating activities across various committees.

The committee consists of eight senators elected by the senate as voting members.

Ex-officio members include:

  • University President
  • University Provost
  • Immediate past chair(s) of the Faculty Senate
  • Chairs of the elected faculty governance bodies of each school (where such bodies exist)
  • Faculty Senate representatives to Board of Trustees committees
