Annual OHSP Updates session will be held February 27

OHSP will host their next UR Human Research Protection Program (UR-HRPP) Educational Forum on Friday, February 27^th��from 12 pm to 1 pm and��OHSP��leadership will present ‘OHSP��Updates.’��.�� The session will be recorded, with captioning added, for later viewing.�� Questions can be directed to��Sarah Mumford.

We will provide an update on the human subject research conducted at the URochester over the past year, as well as any key changes and upcoming plans.

Please note that additional training opportunities are available in March (“Single IRB Review Process”) and April (“Community-Engaged Research and IRB Review”).��

New OHSP Guidance on Review of External Investigators

New guidance material is available from OHSP related to adding external (non-UR) investigators/staff to research, when the individual is not affiliated with an institution (e.g., a community member engaged in the research that is participating on their own behalf, as opposed to the behalf of their employer).

The guidance summarizes expectations for when a non-UR individual is engaged in the research and the research is:

Exempt
Not exempt and federally funded
Not exempt and not federally funded
