Kammerer Award by the American Political Science Association<\/a>\u00a0for his contributions to the book\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cambridge.org\/core\/books\/equality-unfulfilled\/ED900F417B84DD7E84EADAFD708A3803\"><em>Equality Unfulfilled: How Title IX\u2019s Policy Design Undermines Change to College Sports<\/em><\/a> (Cambridge University Press, 2023). Druckman authored the book with Elizabeth Sharrow, an associate professor at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.<\/p>\n<p>The distinction honors the best book published during the previous calendar year in the field of national policy and comes with a $1,000 cash prize. The American Political Science Association called the book \u201can impressive piece of scholarship\u201d and said it stood out \u201cfor its courage in taking on such a universally lauded public policy and asking readers to consider its shortcomings.\u201d<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rochester.edu\/newscenter\/review-summer-2024-when-politics-gets-personal-613992\/\">Druckman shares his expertise on political polarization in the latest issue of <em>Rochester Review<\/em><\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr style=\"width: 50%;\" \/>\n<h3 id=\"hall\"><strong>William Hall awarded Lifetime Achievement Award <\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Geriatrician <a href=\"https:\/\/www.urmc.rochester.edu\/people\/112358147-william-j-hall\">William Hall<\/a>, a professor emeritus of medicine, received the Nascher\/Manning Award for Lifetime Achievement at the American Geriatrics Society\u2019s annual scientific meeting in May. The initiative provides flexible funding to pursue imaginative research ideas, allowing the investigators to explore new and uncharted areas and advance the scientific understanding of the natural world.<\/p>\n<p>Kelley receives a five-year, $1.25 million grant to try to solve the mystery of how Earth\u2019s magnetic field arose before the inner core formed. His lab will measure how peaks and valleys below a spinning, convecting layer of liquid metal affect its motions\u2014their speed, structure, and capacity for transporting heat. By doing so, Kelley hopes to learn whether the uneven boundaries of Earth\u2019s liquid metal core could have promoted flows that were fast enough to generate the planet\u2019s magnetic field, even before the solid inner core was formed.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.moore.org\/investigator-detail?investigatorId=kelley-ph.d\">Read more about his project<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr style=\"width: 50%;\" \/>\n<h3 id=\"kuo\"><strong>American Academy of Pediatrics recognizes Dennis Kuo<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.urmc.rochester.edu\/people\/112363107-dennis-z-kuo\">Dennis Kuo<\/a>, the Purcell Family Distinguished Professor of Pediatrics and chief of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics at Golisano Children\u2019s Hospital, was presented the 2024 Arnold J. Colleagues commend her as a collaborative leader and educator, making a significant impact on patient care and the broader community.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a has secured a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/managedlists.ur.rochester.edu\/trk\/click?ref=zul360ron_7-46c3x3193edx06736&amp;\">National Science Foundation (NSF) CAREER<\/a>\u00a0grant to fund deep probabilistic seismic imaging on the Earth\u2019s crust beneath the ocean.<\/p>\n<p>CAREER awards are the NSF\u2019s most prestigious awards in support of junior faculty who exemplify the role of teacher-scholars through outstanding research, excellent education, and the integration of education and research.<\/p>\n<p>Olugboji\u2019s plan includes two project-based courses that integrate \/>\n<h3 id=\"schwarz\"><strong>Edward Schwarz earns AO Foundation\u2019s top research award<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.urmc.rochester.edu\/people\/112358832-edward-m-schwarz\">Edward Schwarz<\/a>, the Richard and Margaret Burton Distinguished Professor in Orthopaedics and director of the Center for Musculoskeletal Research, has been awarded the 2024 Berton Rahn Research Award from the AO Foundation, an international consortium of surgeons and researchers focused on advancing care of musculoskeletal disorders through research, development, and provider education.<\/p>\n<p>Schwarz in being recognized for his significant contributions to musculoskeletal research and his leadership in orthopaedic biologic therapy. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.urmc.rochester.edu\/labs\/schwarz.aspx\">His lab<\/a> developed a novel, passive immunization for MRSA- and bone-targeted antibiotics, and in vivo imaging to expand understanding Academy of Diversity Leaders in Nursing<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Mitchell Wharton, an associate professor of clinical nursing, has been named a Distinguished Fellow of the Academy of Diversity Leaders in Nursing, in recognition of their work to create innovative diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice initiatives in nursing.<\/p>\n<p>Wharton, an accomplished educator, HIV and sexual health researcher, and clinician and the former associate dean for equity and inclusion at the School of Nursing, led several initiatives toward promoting a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment and raising awareness around inequities in the classroom, clinical setting, and greater community.<\/p>\n<p>The fellowship, established by the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbna.org\/\"><strong>National Black Nurses Association<\/strong><\/a>, recognizes nurses who have demonstrated expertise in nursing education, research, practice, policy, or
