The Ä¢¹½´«Ã½<\/a> is finalizing the purchase of the Brooks Crossing apartment complex, a 170-bed residential building located in the Brooks Landing area, across from River Campus on the Genesee River. Since the opening of Brooks Landing in 2014, the University has leased the Brooks Crossing complex from its original owner and developer and used it to house upperclass students.<\/p>\n

\u201cBrooks Crossing is one of the most popular housing options for our juniors and seniors, and we felt it was important to own this building so we can ensure that it is properly maintained and operated for the benefit of our students and the community,\u201d said Holly Crawford, senior vice president for Administration and Finance, CFO and treasurer.<\/p>\n

Current residents of Brooks Crossing will not see changes or disruption to their living situation as a result of the purchase. Moving forward and beyond the COVID-19 pandemic, University leaders are planning to make renovations to the property and will continue to explore the use of the building\u2019s lower-level dining space.<\/p>\n

Throughout the purchasing process, University leaders have been in communication with the City of Rochester, as well as residents of the 19th Ward, the neighborhood immediately adjacent to Brooks Crossing. The University\u2019s purchase of Brooks Crossing is set to be completed in the coming weeks.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
