They\u2019ll receive up to three years of support to pursue doctoral or research-based degrees.<\/h2>\n

Fifteen\u00a0Ä¢¹½´«Ã½<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0students and alumni have been offered\u00a0National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowships<\/strong><\/a>, part of a federally sponsored program that provides up to three years of support for US students pursuing doctoral or research-based degrees in STEM, STEM education, and social science fields.<\/p>\n

Six current students and nine alumni will represent Rochester. Nine current students and five alumni receive honorable mention.<\/p>\n

Candidates apply the year before entering graduate school or during the first two years of graduate degree programs and must demonstrate scholarly promise and leadership potential.<\/p>\n

\u201cWorking with undergraduates and recent alumni on the application is an ongoing priority because we know that Rochester has a deep pool of talent that can compete well for this opportunity,\u201d says Belinda Redden, director of the Student Fellowships Office<\/a>. \u201cWe know that whatever the applicant\u2019s result, completing such a challenging application so early in their graduate-school trajectory will prove to be of immense benefit as they progress in their studies and professions. Students often tell us how valuable the process was to their graduate applications and other competitive opportunities they pursued.\u201d<\/p>\n
