On campus:<\/em><\/p>\n For direct assistance from the\u00a0University Counseling Center<\/b>, students can call 585-275-3113, 24 hours, 7 days a week. A UCC professional is on-call off hours.<\/p>\n Students may also call the\u00a0Life Line<\/b>\u00a0at (585) 275-5151.<\/p>\n Detailed information is available on the UCC website at\u00a0www.rochester.edu\/ucc<\/a>.<\/p>\n To reach the\u00a0CARE Network<\/b>, visit\u00a0www.rochester.edu\/care<\/a>, and the Resource Center, available on the UR Mobile app.<\/p>\n Additional resource:<\/em><\/p>\n The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline: 1-800-273-TALK (8255)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Suicide is the second leading ca<\/a>use of death among college students<\/a>, according to the American Association of Suicidology. The AAS further reports that approximately one-third of college students have seriously considered suicide.<\/span><\/p>\n In response to these grim statistics, the Ä¢¹½´«Ã½ community is marking National Suicide Prevention Week with a range of efforts to increase awareness of suicidal behavior, the importance of prevention, and the resources available to students.<\/span><\/p>\n The <\/span>University Counseling Center<\/span><\/a> and the <\/span>CARE Network<\/span><\/a> are two principal sources of help and support for students in distress. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
