Since its creation by George Eastman over 100 years ago, the Eastman School of Music of the Ä¢¹½´«Ã½ has been an international center of excellence in performance, research, and innovation. As a musician I know the profound power music can have on those who experience it. I am also keenly aware of the financial pressures facing musicians everywhere. That is why I believe in supporting what I love now and into the future.<\/p>\n
My husband, Ramon \u201973E (DMA), an Eastman School professor emeritus of saxophone, and I are founding members of the Wilson Society and have established a URochester charitable remainder unitrust (CRUT). We are part of a growing community investing in the future of our University. Because the Eastman School has been central to our lives for so many years, we want to ensure that the music never ends. Our legacy includes two professorships supporting classical and jazz saxophone as well as scholarships for deserving students. The Eastman School is unique in the world, and we want to secure the longevity of its leadership.<\/p>\n
The future of the University is important, but we know that philanthropy has three critical arms\u2014annual support, endowment, and legacy giving. That is why we are also founding members of the George Eastman Circle.<\/p>\n
