Meliora! A message from our Chair<\/h5>\n

Class is officially in session, and students, faculty, and staff are excited to be reuniting on our many campuses. This year, the Ä¢¹½´«Ã½ welcomed the Class of 2026, which includes students from more than 40 countries and nearly every US state, plus Guam, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico. International students comprise nearly one out of every four first-year students, with increases across all underrepresented demographics.<\/p>\n

For the first time since 2019, students were able to move-in to their new \u201chome away from home\u201d without wearing masks. The Ä¢¹½´«Ã½ has done a tremendous job ensuring everyone\u2019s health and safety over the last few years, and we are thrilled to be experiencing a more traditional sense of normal on campus this fall.<\/p>\n

Since its inception, George Eastman Circle members have played a critical role through our collective support at the University and Medical Center. You\u2019ve made an extraordinary difference, and I invite you to continue making a difference through your membership. Together, we are setting the best example possible for the Class of 2026, for all current students and generations of future leaders, for patients and families, faculty and staff, and so many others in the Rochester network.<\/p>\n

Welcome, Class of 2026<\/h5>\n

The School of Medicine and Dentistry Class of 2026 recently received their white coats during the traditional ceremony that marks the beginning of medical school. Just a few weeks later, undergraduates of the Class of 2026 moved onto campus at the College of Arts, Sciences and Engineering and Eastman School of Music.[\/vc_column_text]Meet the students<\/a>[vc_separator type=”normal” color=”#065143″ up=”20″ down=”20″][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

\u201cLegacy really comes down to selflessly helping others\u201d<\/h5>\n
George Eastman Circle member Ralph Olney was first diagnosed with a rare form of acute myeloid leukemia in 2011. Today, he credits his survival to the Wilmot Cancer Institute and is giving back with immense gratitude.<\/div>\n

Meliora Weekend is back and better than ever. Register today and reconnect with us on campus September 29\u2013October 2. The George Eastman Circle will provide an all-day hospitality suite, exclusive for its members attending 2022 Meliora Weekend. Members are welcome to come and go as they please and use this space as a refuge in-between events and meetings.<\/div>\n
