When the month, day, and year are included, the year is set off with commas. In combinations with more than two date elements, commas are used to set off each element.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The final exam will be held Wednesday, December 15.<br \/>\nThe New Year\u2019s Day party is Friday, January 1, 2016.<br \/>\nOn February 15, 1851, the University\u2019s charter was approved.<br \/>\nThe semester begins in September 2015.<br \/>\nStudents need to register by August 15.<br \/>\nWe moved in on Saturday.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Use cardinal numbers for dates even though they may be pronounced as ordinals. In constructions where a number is written out, use ordinals.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>She\u2019ll be here on the ninth.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In most editorial uses, if the date refers to the current year, the inclusion of the year isn\u2019t necessary.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Meliora Weekend will be held in October.<br \/>\nShe doesn\u2019t plan to start taking classes until the spring semester begins on January 18, 2016.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Follow the guidelines in the\u00a0Chicago Manual.
