Spring registration opens tomorrowRegistration for spring 2026 courses isMonday, November 10, through Friday, November 14. To avoid delays, check for any holds that may prevent registration, including but not limited to onboarding, advising, Title IX training, UHS requirements, primary writing, and past-due balances. Some holds may not automatically lift, so students should plan to complete them in advance of registration. To check for holds, follow these steps:
- Log in to UR Student and click on “Academics.”
- On the left side of the screen, you will find “Holds.” If you have any, click the number and check them out.
- Each hold will tell you what steps to take to resolve the hold and who to contact if you have any questions.
School of Arts & Sciences students in the classes of 2028 and 2029, and all Hajim School of Engineering & Applied Sciences undergraduates, have advising holds that must be lifted before registration. Refer to the registration schedule for more details. Eastman School of Music students who need to register for courses above the credit limit should submit the.

Fall course withdrawal deadline, S/F grading optionA reminder that Monday, November 10,is the final day to withdraw with a “W” grade from a fall 2024 course. More information about course withdrawals can be found in the“Dropping Courses” sectionof the Academic Policies and Advising Handbook. Contact your advisor with questions about this deadline.
Monday, December 1, is the last day to declare the S/F grading option. Please note that this is the day classes resume after Thanksgiving Break. Visit theAdvising Handbook web pageto learn more about this grading option and reach out to your advisor with questions.
River Campus winter break housing, dining River Campus housing during winter break is available to all undergraduate students in the School of Arts & Sciences and Hajim School of Engineering & Applied Sciences residing in housing for fall 2025 who also have a housing contract for the spring 2026 semester. Students stay in their existing housing assignment. Students choosing to remain on campus for part or all of winter break, December 19 through January 16, byDecember 8; they will be charged a $400 fee to support the operation and maintenance of the residence halls. This fee will be added to student financial accounts in UR Student and will be due by January 10.
Financial support is available for students with demonstrated financial need (those currently receiving federal or institutional need-based assistance using the 2025–26 financial aid application) and will be applied on a sliding scale. Aid will be provided based on the student’s level of need, ranging from 0 to 100 percent coverage of the $400 fee. Please contact your financial aid counselor if you have any questions about your level of aid.Students with financial hardship may also request support through the Basic Needs Hub.
Winter break housingdoes not require a meal plan. Dining Services will have limited on-campus eating venues available, operating with reduced hours. A schedule of hours and services will be available online soon. Fall meal plans end after service onDecember 17. Dining dollars from fall meal plans will continue to be active during the winter break period. Students will be responsible for food expenses during break and may add dining dollars to their accounts. Spring meal plans begin January 18.
