The experience is at the intersection of data science, biomedical optics, and predictive modeling to support research on childhood myopia and vision health. The intern will help transform an existing MATLAB-based analysis process into a scalable and automated data pipeline which will be capable of analyzing large longitudinal datasets over multiple years. Through this work they will gain experience working with real-world clinical data, reproducible research methods, and large-scale data analysis. The project supports future research by exploring whether optical features can help identify children at higher risk for progressive vision loss.
