Global Days of Service<\/h1>\n

Make an impact in your community<\/h2>\n

During Global Days of Service, Ä¢¹½´«Ã½ alumni, parents, and friends come together to serve their local communities.<\/p>\n

There are two ways to get involved:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Suggest a service project and take the lead. You pick the project; we help spread the word among the Rochester networks.<\/li>\n
  2. Join a service project in your community, led by a fellow Yellowjacket.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Have an idea for a service project?<\/h2>\n

    A rich history<\/h2>\n

    During first-year orientation, undergraduate students at both the River Campus and Eastman School of Music quickly learn the University motto of Meliora, meaning \u201cever better\u201d through participation in a day of service in the Rochester community.<\/p>\n

    Known on the River Campus since 1988 as Wilson Day, named after the family of Joseph C. Wilson \u201931, and George Eastman Day of Service at the Eastman School of Music after George Eastman, this has instilled a tradition of service within the University community.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”100px” image_repeat=”no-repeat”][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row row_type=”row” use_row_as_full_screen_section=”no” type=”grid” text_align=”left” css_animation=”” box_shadow_on_row=”no”][vc_column][vc_empty_space height=”50px” image_repeat=”no-repeat”][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n
