Regional leader

In 2025, Ä¢¹½´«Ã½ joined a statewide consortium of leading public and private academic institutions, who are collaborating to facilitate groundbreaking AI research and innovative technological development. As the consortium's only integrated health system, we are driving the advancement of AI-powered health care.

Center of Excellence

We're home to the New York State Center of Excellence (CoE) in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence. Established in 2014, the CoE supports New York businesses through data science and AI tools and techniques to take on challenges and deliver critical insights. To date, that's resulted in an economic impact of more than $140 million.

Supercomputing

At the Laboratory for Laser Energetics, our scientists are studying laser-driven inertial confinement fusion for the purposes of national security and harvesting energy from nuclear fusion. They have a substantial technological edge in one of the most powerful and energy-efficient computer systems in the world.

Tier 3 data center

"Tier 3" is the second highest classification for a data center. It means the center has multiple paths for power and cooling as well as redundant systems that allow maintenance to be done without going offline. We own one of these facilities, giving it an increased capacity for machine learning and AI research.
