Founded in 2011 by Kathy Murray \u201974, chair emeritus and a University trustee, and Victoria Turchetti \u201997, today Barbara Grossman Berger \u201977 and Sherli Looi \u201904S (MBA) cochair the group, which hosts monthly breakfasts and a variety of other activities.<\/p>\n<p>For both Berger and Looi, the group provides ways to connect on a personal level. \u201cWe are all so tied up in our lives and, for many of us, we don\u2019t interact with each other face-to-face much anymore,\u201d says Berger.<\/p>\n<p>Looi says that because New York City is so big, it can be easy to feel disconnected. For her, the group is a forum for friendship.<\/p>\n<p>Every month, the group\u2019s steering committee discusses program ideas. In addition to Murray, Berger, and Looi, Anita Mehta \u201991, Christiane Siebert \u201991E, Louisa Lei \u201915, and Sofia Saravia \u201916 serve on the committee. \u201cWe\u2019re a close-knit, inclusive group,\u201d says Looi. They are also a diverse group, with members from five countries\u2014Malaysia, China, Mexico, Germany, and the United States.<\/p>\n<p>Berger and Looi say the group reflects the diversity of New York City. \u201cYou don\u2019t see any barriers between us based on where we come from, our careers, our ages, or anything.
