{"id":300666,"date":"2015-03-24T20:46:55","date_gmt":"2015-03-24T20:46:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.wdev.rochester.edu\/College\/translation\/threepercent-dev\/2015\/03\/24\/alta-2015-travel-fellowships\/"},"modified":"2018-04-16T14:57:36","modified_gmt":"2018-04-16T14:57:36","slug":"alta-2015-travel-fellowships","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rochester.edu\/College\/translation\/threepercent\/2015\/03\/24\/alta-2015-travel-fellowships\/","title":{"rendered":"ALTA 2015 Travel Fellowships"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>OK, now that we have the <span class=\"caps\">ALTA<\/span> 2015 location set (Tucson), the dates (October 28-31), hotel (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.marriott.com\/hotels\/travel\/tusup-tucson-marriott-university-park\/\">Marriott University Park<\/a>), and keynote speakers (Stephen Snyder and Jerome Rothenberg), it&#8217;s time to send out the <a href=\"https:\/\/literarytranslators.wordpress.com\/2015-awards\/alta-travel-fellowship\/\">call for Travel Fellowships.<\/a><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Each year, between four and six $1,000 fellowships are awarded to emerging (unpublished or minimally published) translators to help them pay for hotel and travel expenses to the annual <span class=\"caps\">ALTA<\/span> conference. <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote>\n<p>At the conference, <span class=\"caps\">ALTA<\/span> Fellows are invited to read their translated work at a keynote event, giving them an opportunity to present their translations to an audience of translators, authors, editors, and publishers from around the world.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Applications must be submitted through our <a href=\"https:\/\/alta.submittable.com\/submit\">applications portal<\/a> by June 1, 2015.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Applications must include:<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote>\n<p>a cover letter explaining your interest in attending the conference<br \/>\ncurrent CV \/ resum\u00e9<br \/>\nup to 10 pages of translated work (poetry or prose, double spaced)<br \/>\nthe corresponding original language text<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Geoffrey Brock, Jennifer Croft, and Sidney Wade are judging this year. So, good luck! Get your applications in.
