In this week’s podcast, Tom and Chad talk about the works of British writer David Peace. Peace was part of the 2003 version of Granta<\/em>’s Best of Young British Novelists<\/a> (along with Toby Litt, Nicola Baker, David Mitchell, Adam Thirlwell—really solid list), and is the author of nine novels, including the “Red Riding Quartet” (Nineteen Seventy-Four<\/em>, Nineteen Seventy-Seven<\/em>, Nineteen Eighty<\/em>, Nineteen Eighty-Three<\/em>), the first two volumes of the uncompleted “Tokyo Trilogy” (Tokyo Year Zero<\/em> and The Occupied City<\/em>), two books on famous soccer figures (The Damned Utd<\/em> and Red or Dead<\/em>), and GB84<\/em> about the UK miners’ strike. <\/p>\n

Since Peace’s books encompass the main interests of both Tom and Chad—soccer and crime!—they each read a few different Peace books to prep for this podcast. <\/p>\n
