{"id":287736,"date":"2011-10-24T15:31:09","date_gmt":"2011-10-24T15:31:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.wdev.rochester.edu\/College\/translation\/threepercent-dev\/2011\/10\/24\/2011-harold-morton-landon-translation-award\/"},"modified":"2018-04-16T16:16:53","modified_gmt":"2018-04-16T16:16:53","slug":"2011-harold-morton-landon-translation-award","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rochester.edu\/College\/translation\/threepercent\/2011\/10\/24\/2011-harold-morton-landon-translation-award\/","title":{"rendered":"2011 Harold Morton Landon Translation Award"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;m excited to announce that Jeffrey Angles has won this year&#8217;s Harold Morton Landon Translation Award for his translation from the Japanese of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ucpress.edu\/book.php?isbn=9780520260511\"><em>Forest of Eyes: Selected Poems of Tada Chimako<\/em>.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s not a lot of info on the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.poets.org\/page.php\/prmID\/112\">official award page<\/a> (a pet peeve, but I&#8217;ll resist teeing off on the Academy of American Poets website for today, since it&#8217;s Monday and the 16-7 Cardinals victory on Saturday put me in a temporary good move), but the award is given out every year to a collection translated from any language into English. <\/p>\n<p>The list of past winners is pretty damn impressive: Clayton Eshleman, Robert Fagles, W. S. Merwin, Anselm Hollo, Cola Franzen, W. D.
