  {"id":287166,"date":"2011-09-22T16:48:03","date_gmt":"2011-09-22T16:48:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.wdev.rochester.edu\/College\/translation\/threepercent-dev\/2011\/09\/22\/elizabeth-novickas-wins-the-st-jerome-award\/"},"modified":"2018-04-16T16:16:58","modified_gmt":"2018-04-16T16:16:58","slug":"elizabeth-novickas-wins-the-st-jerome-award","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rochester.edu\/College\/translation\/threepercent\/2011\/09\/22\/elizabeth-novickas-wins-the-st-jerome-award\/","title":{"rendered":"Elizabeth Novickas Wins the St. Jerome Award"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This actually took place over the summer, but I&#8217;m still digging out of my massive pile of unread emails (sorry&#8212;if you&#8217;re waiting for a reply from me, it&#8217;s not a bad idea to send a prompt). <\/p>\n<p>Anyway, here&#8217;s the official announcement from the Lithuanian Translator&#8217;s Association:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Elizabeth Novickas has won this year&#8217;s St. Jerome Award from the Lithuanian Translator&#8217;s Association for her translations of Ri\u010dardas Gavelis&#8217;s <em>Vilnius Poker<\/em> and Kazys Boruta&#8217;s <em>Whitehorn&#8217;s Windmill.<\/em> Translations into or from Lithuanian literature are evaluated on the basis of their artistic merit and professionalism, as well as the translator&#8217;s contributions to intercultural dialog.
