{"id":284926,"date":"2011-05-12T18:30:00","date_gmt":"2011-05-12T18:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.wdev.rochester.edu\/College\/translation\/threepercent-dev\/2011\/05\/12\/pen-world-voices-in-rochester\/"},"modified":"2018-04-16T16:23:51","modified_gmt":"2018-04-16T16:23:51","slug":"pen-world-voices-in-rochester","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rochester.edu\/College\/translation\/threepercent\/2011\/05\/12\/pen-world-voices-in-rochester\/","title":{"rendered":"PEN World Voices in Rochester"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As an extension of the <span class=\"caps\">PEN<\/span> World Voices Festival, in the three days following the NY-based part of the Festival, 13 authors presented their works in 12 cities, including in Rochester, NY. <\/p>\n<p>We were lucky enough to have Najat El Hachmi (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.serpentstail.com\/book?id=10977\"><em>The Last Patriarch<\/em><\/a>), Carsten Jensen (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.houghtonmifflinbooks.com\/catalog\/titledetail.cfm?titleNumber=1175342\"><em>We, the Drowned<\/em><\/a>), and Marcelo Figueras (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.groveatlantic.com\/#page=isbn9780802170873%20\"><em>Kamchatka<\/em><\/a>) all come to <a href=\"http:\/\/wab.org\/\">Writers &amp; Books<\/a> to read from their work and answer a few questions late-night talk show style.
