Books."},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span class=\"caps\">NPR<\/span> is going all nationalist and public and polling their listeners on what they&#8217;d like to hear in terms of book reviews and book coverage:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>What makes a book review worth reading? What type of books should <span class=\"caps\">NPR<\/span> cover more? What do we write about too much? Who are you people, and what do you want?<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote>\n<p>As editors of the Arts section, my colleagues and I tend to think we know the answers to questions like these. But honestly, we&#8217;re just guessing, based on a combination of our preconceptions and stuff our spouses, moms and friends tell us (referred to in the news business as &#8220;gut instinct&#8221;).<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote>\n<p>So, as we start on a year-long project to expand and improve <span class=\"caps\">NPR<\/span>&#8217;s books coverage, we thought we&#8217;d look past our own navels and invite some participation from you, our book-loving audience.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Take the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.npr.org\/blogs\/monkeysee\/2010\/11\/01\/130975704\/books-done-better-you-tell-us-how?ft=1&amp;f=1032\">online survey,<\/a> and remember&#8212;every time you encourage <span class=\"caps\">NPR<\/span> to review our books, a kitten gets its wings.<\/p>\n<div class=\"ad_banner\">\n<a href=\"http:\/\/catalog.openletterbooks.org\/subscribe\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rochester.edu\/College\/translation\/threepercent\/images\/131.jpg\" \/><\/a>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>NPR is going all nationalist and public and polling their listeners on what they&#8217;d like to hear in terms of book reviews and book coverage: What makes a book review worth reading?
