Mr. Carroll \u201cfinds things, picks things up for a little bit of money and makes a lot out of them,\u201d said Jonathan Galassi, publisher of Farrar, Straus &#038; Giroux. \u201cMost of publishing was once that way. It wasn\u2019t about big money so much.
