{"id":267736,"date":"2009-01-12T21:22:07","date_gmt":"2009-01-12T21:22:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.wdev.rochester.edu\/College\/translation\/threepercent-dev\/2009\/01\/12\/news-of-open-letter-reaches-batavia\/"},"modified":"2018-04-16T17:27:24","modified_gmt":"2018-04-16T17:27:24","slug":"news-of-open-letter-reaches-batavia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rochester.edu\/College\/translation\/threepercent\/2009\/01\/12\/news-of-open-letter-reaches-batavia\/","title":{"rendered":"News of Open Letter Reaches Batavia!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I feel bad laughing at this, but we just found out that on Saturday, the <em>Daily News<\/em> published <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thedailynewsonline.com\/articles\/2009\/01\/10\/lifestyles\/feature_stories\/5041993.txt\">this article<\/a> about the release of our first title . . . which came out last September.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Dubbed the &#8220;break-out&#8221; book for fall 2008 by Publishers Weekly, <em>Nobody&#8217;s Home<\/em>, by Croation author Dubravka Ugresic, is the first book published by Open Letter, a new translation press at the URochester.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>There is so much wrong here . . . First off, Dubravka actually came to Rochester, so had this appeared, like, four months ago, residents could&#8217;ve come to the event. And it&#8217;s actually spelled &#8220;Croatian,&#8221; thank you very much. The real kicker is that the byline on this piece is &#8220;Staff Reports.&#8221; <\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m grateful for any article printed about Open Letter (and every copy sold), but this is too untimely and funny to pass up . . .
