It&#8217;s a bit daunting though . . . <\/p>\n<p>The Literary Saloon also points out that the longlists for the <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.prix-litteraires.info\/2007\/09\/premire-slection-du-prix-mdicis-2007.html\">Prix M\u00e9dicis<\/a> and Prix Renaudot have both been announced. <\/p>\n<p>From the Prix M\u00e9dicis, the books that jump out to me are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Antoine Volodine, <i>Songes de Mevlido<\/i> (Univ. of Nebraska published <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nebraskapress.unl.edu\/bookinfo\/4532.html\"><i>Minor Angels<\/i><\/a> a couple years ago);<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Jean Hatzfeld, <i>La strat\u00e9gie des antilopes<\/i>;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Linda L\u00ea, <i>In memoriam<\/i> (another <span class=\"caps\">UNP<\/span> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nebraskapress.unl.edu\/bookinfo\/3157.html\">author<\/a>); and,<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Olivier Adam, <i>A l&#8217;abri de rien<\/i> (which we have on submission).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Adam book is also up for the Prix Renaudot, the longlist for which also includes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Paul Fournel, <i>Chamboula<\/i> (the current secretary of the Oulipo, I believe);<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Am\u00e9lie Nothomb, <i>Ni d&#8217;Eve ni d&#8217;Adam<\/i> (a book we&#8217;re interested in considering); and,<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Lydie Salvayre, <i>Portrait de l&#8217;Ecrivain en Animal Domestique<\/i> (which sounds like one of her best).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>According to the Literary Saloon, Prix-Litteraires.net is the best place to keep track of all the longlists, shortlists, and winners of the French book prizes.
